We are currently looking for a seasoned DevOps engineer with significant experience in operating commercial-grade consumer-facing services, APIs, and web apps that leverage Machine Learning tools and technologies. This is a technical leadership role and you will work closely with our CTO to build a highly reliable, scalable, available, performant, and cost-effective production environment along with similar ones for development and quality assurance. Ellipsis Health is located in the San Francisco Bay Area, but we are open to remote candidates for this role. However, they must be in the US.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Build new Kubernetes clusters and update existing ones with new images

Release management and CI/CD

Build and enhance service monitoring
-
Set up access control, audit logging, and other security and compliance related configurations

Develop a robust backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity tools and processes

Help maintain 99.99% or higher availability SLA

Service cost modeling and ongoing cost optimization to drive down our service cost
QUALIFICATIONS
-
Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent
-
5+ years of industry experience
-
Expert-level experience in deploying and operating services in Google Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, IAM, Networking, Firewall, Security Configurations, etc.

Solid DevOps experience with AWS

Expertise in Infrastructure-as-a-Code using Terraform / OpenTofu

Programming expertise in Python and shell scripting

Experience with the standard tools of the trade. For example, Git, Jenkins, Jira, Confluence, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Datadog, PageDuty, New Relic, etc.

Experience with building and operating LLM services in Kubernetes including provisioning resources for model training in a cost-effective way

Some experience with a NoSQL database, cost modeling
NICE TO HAVE

Knowledge of FHIR, HL7, and HIPAA or other regulatory standards (e.g. SOC-2, HITRUST)

DevOps experience with Microsoft Azure
